A critical analysis of the effect of projected temperature and rainfall for differential sowing of maize cultivars under RCP 4.5 and RCP 6.0 scenarios for Punjab

A simulation study was conducted for two maize cultivars (PMH1 and PMH2) under Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs) in four agroclimatic zones of Punjab state India where climate change depicts a consistent rise temperature variability rainfall. The rainfall varied from location to so zone II (Ballowal Saunkhri), III (Ludhiana, Amritsar, Patiala), IV (Bathinda), V (Abohar Faridkot) were selected the study. bias-corrected ensemble model data seventeen global circulation models (GCMs) RCP 4.5 6.0 used simulate yield period 70 years (2025–2095) using calibrated validated CERES-Maize model. simulated trend current dates sowing indicated strong negative correlation between weather parameters scenarios. Agroclimatic II, III, (Faridkot) observed an increase by 1 °C over years’ time which led lowering high category (> 5000 kg/ha) low (< 3000 kg/ha). cv PMH1 able compensate these effects performed better (Faridkot).
